Fletcher School and Instituto de Empresa Launch Dual Master’s Degree Program Degree combines international affairs and management

MEDFORD MASSACHUSETTS AND MADRID, SPAIN – The Fletcher School at Tufts University, the nation’s oldest graduate school of international affairs, and Instituto de Empresa, a leading European business school, have launched a new Dual Master’s Degree Program, according to a joint news release issued today.

The program is designed to equip students with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Instituto de Empresa Business School (Madrid, Spain), and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) or a Master of Arts (MA) in International Affairs from the Fletcher School in under two and a half years -- less time than it would take to acquire the two degrees on a separate basis.

Students will be prepared for careers that combine international affairs and management. It is particularly appropriate for students who seek management positions in international corporations, global financial institutions, international economic development institutions and government agencies.

“This dual degree will equip directors with a solid training in management and international relations that will place them in a privileged position to meet professional challenges in a global world, in both corporate and institutional environments,” explains Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, Dean of Instituto de Empresa Business School.

“We are delighted to enter into a partnership with Instituto de Empresa,” says Stephen W. Bosworth, Dean of The Fletcher School. "I strongly believe that the unique resources offered at both schools will better equip students to function as successful professionals in this exciting new age of with a globalization.”

Participants must satisfy the requirements for each of the two degrees. The MBA/MALD dual degree program requires students to spend a minimum of three semesters or equivalent at The Fletcher School, and four trimesters at Instituto de Empresa. The MBA/MA dual degree program entails one year at each school.

Instituto de Empresa is a leading European business school, oriented to training entrepreneurs and company directors through its masters and executive education programs.
