Wolfowitz and McNamara: What's the difference?

President Bush's nomination of Paul Wolfowitz to be president of the World Bank, coming hard on his nomination of an ardent opponent of the United Nations to be America's UN ambassador, was bound to stir up a storm. "Will the World Bank now start invading countries?" the wags ask in Washington.

Caricom should embrace 'some' of Brazil's vision

In Brazil's vision no one gets preferential treatment and the Caribbean should indeed embrace that part of the vision. Caricom diplomats should be cognisant that it was largely "preferential treatment" that kept the islands from developing industries that are globally competitive.
