What Americans think of Pakistan

I recently interacted with an American scholar (affiliated with a prestigious US policy think tank) who had called upon me wanting to discuss the current status of US-Pakistan relations. It was, for most part, a routine conversation. The questions he asked were not particularly surprising to me and, I am sure, my answers were not surprising to him.

Where have Pakistan’s Jews gone?

There was once a small but vibrant community of Jews in what is now Pakistan. Most of them left Pakistan decades ago in circumstances that were not comfortable for them and a matter of some shame for us.
