- Lesley is a second-year MALD student at The Fletcher School, concentrating on International Security Studies and Development Economics. She recently returned from an internship with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime where she worked on anti-terror initiatives. Her research revolves around the growing links between terrorism and organized crime and the economic factors that drive insurgent groups to become involved in criminal operations. Prior to enrolling at Fletcher, Lesley graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington as a double major in International Studies and Political Science. After graduation, she joined Teach For America and taught public school and ran community development programs in the rural Mississippi Delta.
